It’s been weeks. The currents feel empty. The kelp doesn’t sway the same without him weaving through it. Even the waves sound quieter somehow.

The little ones still look for him when the tide rolls in. I keep telling them he’s probably just taking the long way home.

If you see him out there… tell him we’re waiting. The water’s calm. The reef’s still shining.
